This Privacy Policy describes how Kalcify ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles your information when you use our website at kalcify.org and our online tools. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
2.1 Automatically Collected Information
When you visit our website, our hosting provider and analytics service automatically collect certain information, including:
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Language preferences
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referring website or source
- Date and time of access
2.2 Tool Usage Data
Calculator arithmetic runs in your browser. Network lookup tools work differently: they send requests to retrieve information. Local calculation does not mean that the whole page is offline; hosting, analytics, advertising and consent services have separate data flows.
When you run a DNS check, your browser sends the domain, record type and resolver selection to Kalcify’s DNS proxy. The proxy forwards the domain and record type to public DNS-over-HTTPS providers and caches answers at the hosting edge. Kalcify’s host receives your request, including your IP address; upstream DNS providers receive the proxy request. Do not submit confidential domain names. This notice does not promise that hosting or DNS providers keep no logs.
When you open the IP lookup tool, your browser contacts ipify.org directly to retrieve your public IP address. ipify receives your IP address and request metadata. The tool reads the displayed timezone, screen size and platform locally; it does not add those values to the IP lookup request. A VPN or proxy can change the IP shown. This notice does not promise that ipify keeps no logs.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
Our calculator forms do not request payment card numbers or government identifiers. Inputs used only for local arithmetic are not submitted by that calculation.
2.4 Business Contacts and Sales Enquiries
If you represent a business that may benefit from our calculator licensing service, we may collect your name, professional role, business email address, organisation, website, the public source where we found those details, and our communications with you. We may obtain this information from your organisation's website or a public professional or business directory. We do not use consumer contact lists.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases for processing your personal data:
- Consent: For personalized advertising and non-essential cookies. You provide consent through our cookie consent banner and may withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate Interest: For fraud prevention and ensuring network and information security.
- Legitimate Interest: For proportionate business-to-business marketing to corporate subscribers where permitted by applicable electronic-marketing law. We record the source and qualification basis, identify the message as commercial, and provide an easy opt-out in every message. We use consent or an applicable existing customer basis where the law requires it, including for UK sole traders and certain partnerships.

4.3 Advertising Cookies
On ordinary visits to the main site, Kalcify loads Google Analytics 4 for usage measurement, Google AdSense for advertising, and Google Funding Choices for consent choices. Embedded tools and excluded QA sessions do not load these services. Loading an advertising script does not guarantee that an ad appears.
4.4 Managing Cookie Preferences
The site configures Google Consent Mode with ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization and analytics storage denied initially in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, and granted initially elsewhere. These are regional defaults, not a worldwide opt-in promise. Loading a Google service can involve network requests even when storage consent is denied.
You can manage your cookie preferences in several ways:
- Where a consent message is offered, use it to accept or decline non-essential cookies. To reopen the available message, use the button.
- Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies
- Use browser extensions or privacy tools to control tracking
Your selection does not guarantee that advertising disappears. Available choices and advertising behavior depend on the consent service and region.

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare receives the network requests needed to serve the site, including your IP address and request metadata. Its privacy policy describes its processing practices.

Kalcify’s site code does not implement a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) handler. We do not claim that enabling either signal changes this site’s consent settings.

10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where our hosting provider is based. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those of your jurisdiction.
11. Data Retention
DNS lookup answers are cached at the hosting edge. Provider retention and cookie lifetimes depend on the service and its configuration; this page does not promise a verified retention period for Google, Cloudflare or ipify. Consult the provider policies linked above, or contact us about a specific record.
We keep business contact and correspondence records for the enquiry, licensing relationship, and applicable accounting or legal obligations. Records that are no longer needed are subject to deletion review. If you opt out or an address bounces, we retain the contact identifier and suppression status needed to prevent further marketing.
12. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information collected through our website. Our website uses HTTPS encryption to secure data transmitted between your browser and our servers.
However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
In the event of a data breach that may affect your rights, we will notify the relevant authorities and affected individuals as required by applicable law.
